For decades, venture capital and angel investors have been the go-to funding sources for startups. But as the risk/return landscape evolves, venture capital isn't the best financial model for most businesses. We need an alternative/new way to fund and support the companies and entrepreneurs that choose a different path.
We're not anti-VC. Venture-scale opportunities certainly exist, and they have their place. However, not every business model or entrepreneur fits this model, and that's where we come in.
